Born in 2006 in Tikry village, Mauripur, Karachi, Muhammad Ali’s story is one of resilience, grit, and transformation. Raised in a humble fisherman’s family on the shores of the Arabian Sea, Ali grew up supporting his father through fishing and daily labor. Despite financial struggles that forced him to end his education after the 8th grade, his passion for football never faded.
He trained barefoot on the rough village grounds, driven purely by love for the game — until opportunity met determination. During the national trials held by Muslim Hands to select a team of street-connected children for the Street Child Football World Cup 2022 in Doha, Ali was discovered. Representing Pakistan on the global stage, he played a vital role in leading the team to a runner-up finish, scoring crucial goals and showcasing exceptional skill.
The following year, Ali continued his rise at the Norway Cup 2023, where Pakistan’s under-17 team — comprised of street-connected players — again finished as runners-up, defeating several professional European clubs. Ali emerged as one of the tournament’s top goal scorers, solidifying his status as a rising star.
Returning to his community, Ali began coaching young children in his village, inspiring them to dream beyond their circumstances. Today, he plays professionally for the Karachi United Pro Team, one of Pakistan’s premier football clubs — earning a stipend that allows him to support his family with dignity.
Muhammad Ali’s journey is a shining example of how raw talent, opportunity, and belief can change lives. From the shores of Karachi to international football arenas, he embodies the spirit of what we at Muslim Hands – Maidaan strive for: transforming potential into purpose.
